Hello, TOKIANs!
The beta mainnet of TOKI’s infrastructure, along with the 1st party front-end, is just around the corner. Over the past two years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to developing the core of TOKI, striving to achieve the perfect balance of openness and security—the essence of “The Internet of Blockchains”. It’s been a challenging journey, demanding immense effort and resources, but we’ve tackled and overcome these challenges head-on without relying on VC funding.
Now, as we stand on the brink of this exciting new chapter, we’re ready to accelerate our growth and expand our presence in the market—together with you, TOKIANs. Building a strong, vibrant community is, of course, essential to ensure the Growth, Resilience, and Governance of the project.
In this letter, I’d like to share the principles in the TOKI community and the important role you play in it.
This is the core philosophy of this community. Business and even the economy ultimately lie in the exchange of trust. Money simply serves as one of the mediums for that trust. Therefore, mutual trust is a fundamental element, especially in the context of the DAO. Unlike the traditional organization, the DAO allows everyone to own a part of the project through tokens from the very early stage. This is the essence of Web3.
To achieve a trustworthy community, we uphold five principles as a shared commitment within the community.
This is at the heart of everything. From our vision, strategy, and milestones to the results, decision-making processes, risks, and challenges—we commit to sharing this information as openly and promptly as possible. We also remain open to hosting opportunities for transparent and inclusive discussions at any time.
The information we share must remain consistent; otherwise, it loses its value. We must stay aligned with each milestone and goal while keeping the long-term vision in focus. If changes are necessary, we must clearly justify them and ensure consensus with the community.
We take full accountability for both positive and negative outcomes while ensuring the sustainability of the projects. If something goes wrong, we must provide a comprehensive and clear explanation to everyone. Additionally, as the community cannot stay engaged for the long-term without tangible benefits, we must remain committed to delivering reasonable rewards.
Communication is not just about sharing the vision, strategy, or milestones—it’s also about sharing emotional values to build a trustworthy community. It’s essential to express what you value, who you are, and where you come from. We believe that finding common ground will strengthen relationships and foster genuine connections.
We must strive to provide fair opportunities, roles, rewards, and penalties for everyone, including Discord participants, liquidity providers, swap users, third-party developers, and more. Those who contribute more to the community should be rewarded accordingly, while those who do not will also be treated accordingly, in all fairness.
In the meantime, we must remain vigilant against malicious actors who attempt to exploit our principles for personal gain alone. This principle must be upheld to sustain our long-term vision, and you will be rewarded in return.
